There are several ways to make rope handcuffs, this one is made by using several larks hands and a bar wrap...
Step 1: Place wrists together with 2"-6" of space between them.
Step 2: Take your rope, grab the 2 tails, and work your way to the middle to create a fold, called the bight.
Step 3: Place the bight on the inner side of one of the wrists, and then wrap the rope around both arms.
Step 4: Take the tails, and pull them through the bight, this makes a larks head around both arms.
Step 5: Now wrap the rope going around in the opposite direction till you get back the the larks head you just created
Step 6: The part that made up the end of the larks head is going to become the beginning of the larks head for the second larks head. Pull the tail through the second bight, and wrap around both arms the opposite way. Keep repeating this as many times as you need, usually 2-4 times is good depending on the size of the rope.
Step 7: When you finish pulling the tails through the last larks head you created, you want to fold the rope between both wrist.
Step 8: Now wrap the rope as many time around the band of larks head that are creating the width of the handcuffs. This is called a bar wrap, because it forms a rope bar. Keep them nice, tight and neat.
Step 9: When you get to the opposite wrist, and you only have enough room for one my bar wrap, take one of the tails and push it through between the 2 bands of larks head making the width, and pull it thru, now this makes the tails of the rope to be going in opposite directions.
Step 10: Take the tails and tie a square knot, to tie it off and finish the handcuffs.
HINT: If you have extra rope coming off the handcuffs, you can use that to tie to furniture with a half hitch.
Alternatives: You can make leave the wrists as far a part as you want, and create a spreader with them. You can also even put wood dollies or other pole like objects in the bar wrap to make cheap spreader bars.
