How to tie a crotchrope
The crotchrope is a great option for one of the first, or primary layers of rope. Contributing to it's erotic power is the fact that it's emphasis is directly on the genitals, and secondary layers of rope tied off to the crotchrope only intensify an already stimulating situation.
Take care and practice in the placement of any built up knots and in adjusting the tension of the crotchrope. It's easy to intensify loose fitting bondage, but very difficult to adjust an over tight binding once subsequent layers are in place.
Shiatsu
The concept of building up knots to stimulate pressure points on the anatomy is derived from shiatsu, an eastern massage technique. The skilled individual uses his knowledge of massage and pressure points to get those thick knots in just the right places.
The pressure of built up knots against the vagina, anus, or base of the scrotum contributes to the power of the crotchrope, but a misplaced or creeping knot against the pubic bone or tailbone can be frustrating and abrading in a not so erotic way.
Also worth mention is that pressure points along the spine actually lie to the side of the spinal column. If your intent is to stimulate these points, or if your subject may end up lying on her back, it's a good idea to place the knot work against the narrow strip of tissue that runs along either side of the spine. Knots that dig directly into the spine can be dangerous, and can detract from the focus of the scene.
1. The first wraps, which will make up the waist binds, are to seat over the crest of the hip bones. With this in mind, take firmly the center point of a four to six fathom length of rope (a fathom is apx. equal to the distance between an average person's outstretched fingertips, or 6 feet), and create a larks head through the loop at the subject's abdomen.
2. The larks head acts as the first cinch in the rope. That in place, wrap the rope in the opposite direction around the waistline, taking care to keep the bindings from twisting.
3. A second larks head is made here by pulling the length of the standing part of the rope through the loop created in step 2. This creates a woven effect in the rope, a pattern that emerges in all kinds of rope bondage.
4. Adjust the tension of the binds. A rule of thumb is to allow for a couple of fingers to slip under the bindings. Keep in mind the object is to apply enough pressure to keep the rope in place, but not so much as to cause local distress. Being one of the first, or primary layers of rope, the tension set here is important to the success of following layers.
5. Keeping a couple of fingers in place under the binds, the tension on the standing part of the rope is held by the pinky and third fingers of the left hand while the right passes a bight of the standing part under the binds.
6. While maintaining tension with the fingers of the left hand, pull the remaining length of the standing part under the waist wraps, over the top, and through the loop formed by the left hand fingers. Be aware of possible rope burns and flailing rope ends when pulling rope here.
7. Take a moment to check that the ropes are sitting flat and straight before seating the knot.
8. A good looking, effective knot results. Note the waist bindings seating above the hip bones as gentle tension draws the standing part of the rope downwards.
Once satisfied with the waist bindings, we look at wrapping the rope through the crotch to attach at the rear.
Time spent on learning to properly locate knots of varying size along the next 18 or so inches of rope is time well spent.
9. Carefully gauge along the length of rope where the more sensitive parts of the anatomy lie. Built up knots of varying degrees over the vagina, ass, and/or clitoris are worth experimenting with, and likes / dislikes vary. Bear in mind that knots here, while stimulating, may get in the way of genital access. Crotch ropes left with no knots in the crotch area are an option.
10. In this case I opt for the wide, flat braiding of a daisy chain.
11. Its a simple braid...the chain is built up by passing a bight of the standing part through a loop, in turn creating another loop, and on and on. Take care to work the chain flat and well dressed.
12. Once the desired proportions are reached, the chain is locked in place by pulling the standing part of the rope, rather than just a bight, completely through the last loop. Seat the knot and check the fit against the subject's crotch. Adjust as needed.
13. Seat the rope work into the crotch, and bring the rope ends up and under the waist wraps at the rear.
14. A simple turn around the waist wraps begins so cinch things up.
15. Pulling a small bight of rope at the end of the tie through the final knot leaves a slippery, or quick release knot.
16. A view from the rear.
17. And the front.
18. With the crotchrope in place, our session evolves with a few permutations.
Here, a second layer of rope is started at the tie off point at the rear of the waistline, then split in two to wrap around the torso and shoulders. By linking layers, the intent is to telegraph upper body movement to the knots at the crotch - a noble pursuit..;)
19. Another variation uses the same length of rope from the same tie off point in the rear to first pull a diamond from the front, vertical section of crotchrope. Diamonds serve aesthetically, but more importantly to tighten, adjust, cinch and or intensify the bondage, and can be deployed all over a bound subject.
From the diamond, follow the split rope tails around the hips and into the crease of the glutes, a powerful erotic pressure point.
The lines then meet at the crotch with a square knot, and emerge through the front of the crotch to split again and rise over the hips to cross on the way up the back. Then it's over the shoulders to cross again at the sternum, then under the breasts before tying off in the back.
Note that the square knot at the crotch is used to alleviate tension on the femoral bundle at the inside of the thighs as the rope tails are spread to rise over the hip bones. Avoid using any tight ropes over this vital area.
20. Shown is the back of the above tie, where a slipped square knot (or reef knot) secures the second layer. With one rope, we are upping the intensity of the crotchrope, stimulating the glutes, sternum and nerves under the breasts.
21. Cinching the panties using the same rope and adding a decorative weave.
22. Splitting the tails at the anal cleft can alleviate potential problems with a build up of knots at the tailbone.
